Rule 26 E-Discovery
(1 hour or 2 hour Seminar) (Continuing Education Credit Available in Many Jurisdictions)
This seminar is taught primarily to attorneys and paralegals and is designed to inform attendees about the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (specifically Rule 26, which applies to e-Discovery). E-Discovery is mandatory. Courts have held that trial counsel “may not engage in parallel know-nothing, do-nothing, head-in-the-sand behavior.” (Zubulake v. UBS, S.D.N.Y., 2004).
Learn why there have been more spoliation cases in the last 10 years than during the previous 200. Learn how to minimize the risk of electronic spoliation and evidentiary mistakes – while minimizing the cost of e-discovery. Learn how technical expertise, together with legal knowledge, is needed to make sound preservation and production judgments.
Seminar materials include:
(i) Illustrative e-discovery case decisions (ii) A copy of the featured PowerPoint presentation (iii) An article entitled Wake-Up Call: On Electronic Discovery
